COMMON DESIGN QUESTIONS
For Printed pieces, Coroplast & PVC Signs, design in CMYK format at 300dpi.
For all other Signage design, please design in a vector format (preferred) at real size, or design in Photoshop at real size (i.e. An 8′ x 8′ banner would be designed at 96″ x 96″) in CMYK at 150dpi.
When working from Illustrator, vectorize all live text to avoid font issues and embed any linked files before saving out.
Please make sure to add at least .125″ of bleed to any job for print (i.e. a 4″ x 6″ Postcard should be set up as 4.125″ x 6.125″ and we will print and trim the card down to 4″ x 6″.
For Chloroplast Signs (Yard Signs and Sidewalk Sign Inserts), please add 1″ of bleed (i.e. an 18″ x 24″ yard sign would be set up at 19″ x 25″
Bleed is not required on most signage products.
Please do not add corner crop marks to any job.
In Photoshop, flatten files and save as a PDF or TIF (with LZW Compression).
In Illustrator, covert all fonts to “Outlines” and then save the file as a PDF or EPS. Please make sure all included files are embedded, not linked.
Offering Envelopes are the only item we don’t print that is full bleed. Please leave .125″ of margin on each side. Color printing is now available on Offering Envelopes for an additional charge.
Multi-page booklets are a little more complex to design. Also, if you have artwork you created from another company, it might not meet our rules.
Here are rules to follow when creating your Multi-page booklet:
• Page counts start on the cover as page 1, inside cover as page 2 and so on.
• Total bleed is .25” and total Safety is .5”. For example, an 8.5×11 booklet with bleed should be 8.75×11.25 total. This allows us to set up your crossovers properly.
• Only single pages will be accepted. NO readers OR printers spreads.
• We prefer a multipage PDF but single page files are also ok.
Our page counts for booklets start on the cover as page 1, inside cover as page 2 and so on.
